    Hey, all!

After reading many of the reviews on here, I've finally decided to go with the Compal IFL90 with these specs:

    WGXA 1280 x 800 Glossy Type Display
    Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300 / 4MB L2 Cache 2.0 Ghz 800 Mhz
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT Express with 512MB Video Memory
    2GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667 MHz - 2 X 1024MB
    120 GB HD (5400 RPM) SATA 150
Windows XP Pro with SP 2

But I still have a few questions:
I'm considering to order mine from discountlaptops.com and wondered are they going to install the OS or am i?
If I have to install it, are there things I have to do to make the XP OS work better with the Core 2 Duo processors?
Are there other websites that will install the OS and make the necessary adjustments for you?

It all depends on the reseller if they give you an option to install it yourself or have them install it for you(I know GentechPC gives that option). It also depends on if you choose to purchase an OS license with them. If you do, they should be installing the OS for you so your laptop is ready to go when you receive it.

If you choose to install OS yourself, you will need to install the SATA driver for your hard drive when installing windows XP. As far as optimizations, give discountlaptops a call and find out whether they do it or not for Windows XP. If they dont, there is a nice guide under Clevo forums on how to optimize your C2D processors.

powernotebooks.com has it also, you have a choice of either to have the OS installed or not . But there the Compal IFL90 is called the powerpro J10:15 and the Sager NP2090, both are the same system.
