    Hi,
I have a Zepto Znote 6625WD, and it's cooling fan breaking down and I urgently need to change it. However, I live in Sweden and my warranty isn't valid any more. There is a computer repair shop here where a guy is being nice and trying to help me out. He mentioned someone at Zepto said they could send a new one so he can replace mine, however that was over a month ago I think and he says he can't get in touch with Zepto cos no one is replying his messages. I know there is/are/may be someone from Zepto browsing this forum so I'm posting here to see if there's any way I can push this a little bit cos my computer isn't gonna keep up much longer.

P.S. I am about to reinstall my computer. I was gonna install Windows 7, but it just hit me that maybe the drivers don't work on 7. Can anyone confirm this?
    I found drivers here: http://zepto.contigio.com/Drivers/Notebooks/Znote_6625WD.html
But that's for XP and Vista. Will the Vista Drivers work on 7?

About the fan, you'll only be able to get one by getting an old used computer and taking the fan from there.

About Windows 7. Install it and everything will be found by itself (maybe except the cardreader). You can use the cardreader driver from Vista 32bit/64bit, depending on which version you are installing, and that should work just fine. Only install the drivers yourself that isn't found automatically by windows 7.

What? Why? Zepto USA aren't out of business yet. Why can't I ordered one from them? I can't find it here in Europe any more, and the manufacturer only delivers if you order large qualities like 10000.

Yes, ReneSDK is correct. Another alternative is to search the Net for similar fans used in other notebooks and modify to fit. Note your fan's manufacturer (probably ADDA). If ADDA, the part # of the fan contains it's specs. Go to http://www.adda.com.tw/eng/fans_model.php for info... good luck!

... But Why is ReneSDK correct? Why can't I order one from Zepto USA?

I wouldn't even know where to start tying to replace it on my own.

Gogge, because Zepto USA only has parts left for the Nox series, which doesn't fit the 6625WD.

The 6625WD was discontinued from production in early 2009, from Inventec who manufactured the model. All parts are End of Life (not manufactured anymore). So you'll be lucky if you can find any spare parts (new or old).

Is there any chance that Zepto USA might have a fan left over or are they all gone? Cos I wouldn't know in a million years how to find a similar fan let alone modify it to fit.

Well you can try and contact them, but I doubt they have any fans left.

Well that's sort of the problem. I haven't been able to get in touch with them. Like I said I was hoping one of their representatives were still hanging out here.

The repair guy said he contacted you on that email address but that he hasn't gotten any replies. It's been a week.

P.S. 2 days ago my computer has started randomly shutting down every once in a while. I believe this is because it overheats. Hence the urgency of this request.

As a last resort, pull the fan and attempt to lubricate by spraying a teflon/silicone based dry lubricant into the space between the fan blade and housing... good luck.

I think the repair guy dd that the last time I left my computer for repair.

I don't see a fan in the pats section for my type of computer. The only Fan I see at all is on the "Nox / Mythos / G Series" section where there's a Nox Axx / Gxx Thermal kit (Heatsink + Fan). But I don't suppose that's compatible with 6625WD?...

If what was mentioned on page 1 was correct then no. A fan for a Nox will not work for you.

Is it possible to purchase a Nox Axx fan without heatsink assembly?

    Thanks,

I took my 6625 to the local computer shop to get the fan replaced, they eventually managed to get a replacement from Germany I think they said, but it took an awful long time. I don't know the exact details I am afraid.
