Why not? Is it a BIOS issue? Or is it hardware?

Pretty much a BIOS issue. You don't really want to overclock in a laptop anyway, because the cooling is limited, especially with a beast of a CPU like you have already. It won't get you anything. Overclock your graphics card first if you want to see improvement in games and such. BTW, it's "Comp al", not Compel.

Oh, my! That is quite the powerful CPU you've got in there. I don't think you'll be needing to overclock it at all ;).

Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum and new to laptops, so don't beat me up to much ;)
I’ve purchased this platforms in pair with Celeron M 430 processor cause of low budget, and this one costs only 50$ ^^. The CPU performance proved to be quite good, satisfying almost all my needs, it can gives pretty descent fps in games almost fully realizing Go 7600 potential, so no need for C2D.
But the problem is that from the very start I planned to set it on FSB166. Is there any way to do this software? Maybe even BIOS editing so it would set only FSB166 skipping the FSB133 set? I’ll do it anyway, just don’t want to break CPU pins off or drilling the socket to do BSEL mod if there is other ways.

Woohoo, I did it! Connected BSEL[0] and BSEL[1] with a piece of wire that went directly into the socket. Here's what I get:

Almost core solo :) But the really good thing is that Matroska 720i now doesn't lag at all!
If anybody interested, you can find my test results here.

    Thank You
