At last this time have come, as it's a C2D in my 3415W and me wanting to get out aaaaall the juice I can get from my machines, the time have now come to try to OC my 3415W, but my plans hit a snag, I didn't look around much in the BIOS earlier, but now, alas, I find that the BIOS is indeed gimped, with all the options for multiplier, FSB and such locked, so I have to ask, is there a non gimped BIOS out or am I missing something here?
-
Nope there isn't. Manufacturers do not let people OC their cpu in the BIOS, except for very very specific cases. Yours is not one of them.
You can try OCing in windows, but that software is not really compatible with the new intel cpus. -
Awww
To bad, I miss the time I had with my DFI Lanparty SLI nForce 4 s939 <3
So long time since I OC'ed for fun
EDIT: What software in Windows for OC'ing then? IIRC they are quite useless when I last tried on my A64, though that is years ago -
Dell does for the X7900 in the 1730 2.8 up to 3.4 and its covered under warrenty
-
-
i read that
and i understand
but i was pointing out the option anyway.
didnt mean to offend -
Someone who finally understands me, you are forgiven!
Anyway, I ain't going to let a gimped BIOS putting aside my OC dreams, it's a C2D after all, it must be OC'd!
So, what software is there to OC a C2D?
(Last time I tested one was Clockgen, a program who froze the whole computer if I put the FSB higher than 215 (200 being the default)) -
not that i know of
plus C2D's get insane hot
so...thats why i bought a 1730 lol
ill look into it -
-
lol
90c plus an OC'd C2D its mobo melting heat dont you think? -
-
i was refering to a OC'd card and a OD'd C2D....of course a not OC'd Card and an OC'd C2D would be sweet.
im not finding an software utility to do it. -
-
im pretty deep in, so good luck.

mine T7100 is undervolted to 9x 1.000V and it goes to about 80 under full load
edit: but oh note that my fan never goes to full speed, just for like 10 secs or less sometimes -
My T7300 (Zepto 6625WD) goes to 75 under full load. But, same as Sprint, my laptop's fan never goes full speed. The only time it will go to full speed is if I start my laptop, it will never go full speed when playing a game. Heck, hardly any air is being blowed out while playing a game. My videocard will reach 65 under full load, and OC'd (600/1200/500-ish, can't remember) it will reach 75. All the temps are far from high, I would start to worry when the temps reach 90-100 degrees celcius.
-
Wth, your video card is at 65 under full load???? Mine is like 65 when idle
When im gaming and have it slightly OCd its at 92/93. look attached
edit: the image there is a bit more OCd than I have it right now. But with values at default I get a temp of about 90 so...Attached Files:

Note that when idle powermizer is activated and the t7300 is running at 1600mhz (8x200) at 0,9v. I don't use RMclock atm, since it can't handle the dynamic switching of C2D properly yet (though it's being worked on!)Attached Files:

This is so wierd. I tested to disable the driver level over-clocking, and guess what, temps under full load went down 5 degrees to 88, idle is now at 50 (and it actually were 55 before this) and whats even more unbelivable is that I get higher FPS???
btw, how did u manage to get the cpu and hdd temps to rivatuner? or is it rivatuner?Attached Files:

Yeah it's rivatuner, download the C2D plugin and activate it + SMART plugin to get hdd and cpu temps.
