I bought a Zonet Zen1200 32bit type II Ethernet card for an older laptop (Sharp pc9030). I think the laptop takes type II cards (2 rows of pins) but the card will not go into the slot fully. I only know of type 1, II or type III PCMCIA cards. I can't find any specs on the pc card slot since the laptop is soooo old

What might be going on here?

The card fits either of the two slots but it just wont go all the way in and seat properly. Maybe the laptop only takes 16bit type II but the pins count looks identical? Only difference is the gold sleeve with bumps near the end.

    Going nuts!

Make sure the card is aligned straight into the slot, and press it firmly. A lot of times you need to give PC cards an extra "shove" (be gentle) to get it to go all the way in.

did that, another 16bit old Adaptec SCSI adpater that the client already had goes in effortlessly.

is there a difference in the pinouts of 16bit/32bit type 2 cards cuz looking at them they are identical and array and size.
