Yes, we said that it heats less, how much less? Does the fan works all the times, what is the fan duty cycle?

penryn is great. it's a refrigerator compared to the amd i had in my hp that pooped on me. my highest temps afaik have been in the low 50's when under heavy use. my cpu idle/web surfing temps are mid 30's to low 40's. my fan comes on for the gpu mostly. i'm still trying to find drivers to lower my idle temp on my gpu.

Fan on my IF 92 stays on low almost all of the time, feel a little heat coming out of the vent and under the hdd, but nothing intolerable.

I have the t8300 and use the cpu meter in gadgets. It usually bounces around 20% use, but when I'm going full bore with an install and a couple of things in the background like a virus scan that it'll up around 90% etc. The fan at that point will usually kick up a little, but it's still pretty quiet.

I'm at work, if I remember I'll come back and post a benchmark or two.

If it's any help I can play Call of Duty 4 while running Ad-Aware and Norton Virus scanner and it doesn't hinder game play, just causes the scenes to load a little slow.

Performance in complete package is great.
The bg difference when I compare my new Compal with my older Compal are listed below.

    Heat production is lower.
Fan is only spinning when needed, and doesn't make to much sound.
    Startup time is much quicker.
Benchmark result indicate the penryn is much faster.
Windows installation goes quicker, meaning saving 7 minutes in time.
HDD data test, read and write speed is faster.
Loading time for sidebar and startup apps is much quicker.
to be correct with complete installation and apps running the boot time is exactly 32sec.
20 sec is what I got before but this is when wireless is of and HDD is running with full power settings.
