    Hi all.

I'm thinking of buying a Zepto 6214w. After looking on the Zepto UK site and seeing a mention of 'personalised covers', I clicked the link and it took me to a page which let me design a cover and even upload my own picture.

However, there wasn't that much actual information about the service. I have a few questions:

    1) Does the design have to be totally full of colour, or can transparency be involved? On the webpage the background comes out as white, but I'd hate for it to actually turn out white.

    2) What resolution/size picture is required?

    3) What actually is the cover? Is it painted onto the laptop's top, or is it some kind of removable cover? If the latter, what's it made from?

If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the enlightenment. :)

they go by 'dpi' i tested a tarten background and 60 dpi was too low but if i made the tarten picture smaller it says 'dpi - 120 - good' and so on. stay out of the red and youll be fine. its a fun idea but for 45 extra quid..is it worth it?

Hmm, I don't know. £45 does seem a little steep, but all the same, I think I could whip up a nice collage in photoshop which would really personalise it.

So, are the covers removable? Or is it painted on?

That looks good! My dad's a Liverpool fan too :)

From your example, it looks like the whole space has to be filled, which is fine. If I used a black background, would it match the colour of the rest of the computer? I've seen it referred to as both black and dark grey in reviews.

I think that's a very nice option to have as so many users like to personalize their systems. And it's much cheaper than the "custom auto paint" option that is otherwise available.

Would it be difficult to remove certain parts to paint myself.

If you want to get transparancy you could fake it by getting the background colour as close to the actual computercolour as possible. That way it would appear as though the cover is visible behind your motive.
