I want to see how many people are uncomfortable having the Fn key at the bottom left instead of Ctrl, because I sure get frustrated all the time with my old laptop because of this.
I know the it's impossible to swap Fn and Ctrl on the user-end; because Fn exists in the BIOS only, not the Windows / Mac keyboard setup.
So, the only thing I can do is ask Zepto a favor to either:
1) Swap the Fn and Ctrl in the BIOS for all upcoming BIOS updates; or
2) Release 2 versions of each new BIOS: one for FnCtrl, one for CtrlFn
But of course, I'm only 1 person, so if not enough people sign this, I guess not a lot of people dislike FnCtrl.
Thank you for your attention, signed.

I agree with this idea in principle.

I think that I use ctrl+___ more than I use the Fn key. I would hate to try and ctrl v something and be pressing the stupid Fn key.
Also I play several games that I use the ctrl key for, and it would be really annoying to have to navigate my left pinky away from the Fn key in the corner. -
haha yeah - it is a tad annoying.. I'm keen for a swap!
-
I agree, please swap it

I'm used to Fn being in the corner and since I used Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V a lot then I am happy not to have to stretch the fingers on my left hand so far.
I would be less worried by the postition of the left Ctrl key if there was also one of the right side of the keyboard. I have two Windows keys, which I never use. I am planning to remap one to Ctrl when I get round to it. In fact, having the other as Fn would also be useful.
Another preference on the keyboard layout would be a bigger reversed "L" enter key and a smaller left shift key, but that preference is based on the layout of my Samsung X6 plus, which seems to work OK for me.
If Zepto could figure out a way to swap the Fn and Ctrl key at the BIOS level then that would be a first and enhance their status as a pioneering company. They probably wouldn't want users pulling the key caps off to change then but providing some stickers with each computer would be an adequate alternative.

I personally wouldn't mind picking out the two keys and swapping them physically -- I've done that with my current laptop many times.
-
I am used to it now, but at first I found it quite tricky to get Ctrl+C etc right first time, because with the size of my hands the Ctrl key was too close to the other keys. But I've got used to it now. If I were given the choice though, I would have chosen to have them the other way round.
I'd be interested to hear from Zepto why they chose to have them that way round.

That was my concern too but after some weeks it was no problem for me anymore.
-
I dont see what the big deal is. You get used to it really fast no? I switched to a macbook pro a few weeks ago and now have to press apple key (like windows key) + c or +v and I am already used to it too. Plus there are programs for it to change this no? There was one posted in the samsung forum a few weeks ago. Dont they work for Zepto too?

I actually prefer Ctrl in the corner as it makes it more intuitive to find in games.
-
yep, i'm also for the swap!

Never mind that I don't own a Zepto laptop, but something like this is one of those "little things" that make or break whether you keep or return the laptop. I don't know what started this rash of Ctrl/Fn button switching across whitebox laptop manufacturers, but switch it back!

On an HP laptop at my work, the BIOS has the option of switching the FN and Ctrl keys, and since they are both the same size keys, they can be popped off and swapped.

Signed up just to add support for this idea!
I'm thinking about buying a 3415W for work/home later this month, and a BIOS option to switch the keys over would be great - I've used laptops with Fn at the bottom left in the past and always found it a pain, especially when trying to copy text. -
I don't think it's a problem at all... I actually like the position of Fn/Control, it's not as straineous on your hands when you use alot of keyboard shortcut keys
But I guess a BIOS function to swap them around wouldn't hurt anyone -

I'm not sure whether the key swap could be handled by just a BIOS fix or whether it would need other hardware modifications.
I hope that someone in Zepto has seen this thread and is looking into the issue. If there is an easy fix it would be wonderful. Otherwise it could go on the list of features for inclusion in the next series.
For me, which key has the corner seat would only sway my purchasing decision if there are two otherwise equal computers which tick all the right boxes. My last several notebooks have all had Fn in the corner so I prefer it that way, but I would soon get used to a different arrangement. After all, other keys tend to move around a bit.

Holy ****, no way! I would hate to have the Fn key in the bottom left corner!
I think that Ctrl should be in the bottom left, just like it is on a desktop keyboard! -
That's what this petition is for -- currently, then Fn key is in the bottom left corner, and we want it swapped. =)
-
+1 for the Ctrl key in the bottom left!
-
It's not a big issue for me but I would prefer ctrl in the corner
-
I'm in favour of the swap. Just make sure (whoever gets to fix this doozy) that it works on all keyboards (Belgian!).
-
Guys, Just to say that this cannot be done on the 6224-6324-6024 and the 3 series models
It is only the 6625WD and 6025WD that have it the other way around as standard -
