I have noticed several disassembeling their notebook on this forum to do the oven trick. I tried disassembling my 6214W but I cant seem to get the parts from each other. Their stuck. Anyone have hints, tips, pictures or even a service manual would be great![]()
Thanks in advance!

First remove the battery since there are a couple of screws under it. then remove the keyboard and all the crews you can find on the outer shell. Now the laptop should still held together with a series of latches and often you start with unlocking the latches that are near the holes where the locking mechanism that keeps the lid and the laptop locked together. You unlock theses latches often by sticking screwdriver down those holes and bending it open.
I hope I made any sense and it gets you started and also remember some people are way to gentle when working with computers, now I'm not saying you should go caveman on your laptop but that sometimes it requires some mild levels of force. -
I must impress that I honestly can't figure out how to get the keyboard disattached, I do not have alot of experience disassembling notebooks, and I know it might take some force. But the wrong amount of force could break it.
A comprehensive guide / help would be nice, especially in the steps after unscrewing everything, I did notice that there are additional screws near the optical drive, and more under the battery. I also have the plastic clasps jutted down, although one seems entirely inaccessible.
I could really use some help, my computer is overheating and I hope a cleanup can help, but I may need to get a new fan. In either case I need my laptop opened. (6224W) -
I'll try to give you a decent guide here.
First unscrew the 3 screws under the notebook. These 3 have a little sign wich looks like a small keyboard pointing to it. One of these screwes is under the RAM-cover (memory).
When the screwes are removed flip over you notebook and open it up. Take a VERY close look at the gap between the keyboard and the computer chassis. It helps a lot if you allso have a flash-light. There are four clips you need to look for. Number 1 is just below the Fn button, number 2 is just below the "><" and Spacebar buttons, number 3 is just below the "Alt Gr" button and number 4 is just below the "-->" (right arrow key).
Do NOT place your screwdriver on top of these clips when you try to pry it open. You will damage your keyboard. Place the screwdriver next to the clip.
Take a small flat screwdriver and try to push up the keyboard by placing the screwdriver between the keyboard and the chassis. Do so by twisting the screwdriver. Do this to make as large gap as possible before you try to pry up the keyboard by gently "jacking" it one clip at time.
To clean the fan I usally just remove the copper coverage on top of the fan. You need new thermal paste to do this because the copper coverage has the GPU heatpipe connected to it.
