Just wondering if it was possible to upgrade from 2GB to 4GB of RAM in this Machine. (Will it support it?)

Also, what is the fastest CPU I can buy for this Machine?

Max 3GB is supported by the chipset afaik.
I think the 2.33ghz Merom Core2duo is the highest u can install in a hel80.
None of the newer scoket p core 2's fit.

I had 4gigs in my EL81 and Vista only used, I think, 2.87gigs and the rest went for video ram. My son is still using it that way and neither of us ever had any problems. The 3gig max is limited by windows 32 bit OS, if you use the 64 bit version, it will use all of it.

Also make sure the cpu's pins will match the socket. Like the T7400 is listed twice in that link, one is for a ball grid array and the other is for a pin grid array type of socket, which is the one that the HEL80/81 has. Also I think the Merom comes in 2 different socket types. If I remember right, I couldn't use the meron from my HEL81 in my JFL92. I know, some where in this forum, there is a list of what will work.

    Thanks for your help.
Just one more question while I'm at it.
Is the Seagate 7200.3 drive a good upgrade for this computer? I don't have a lot of storage needs but I need something bigger than the 100 GB (also a seagate) drive I have in here now.
