PowerPro J 10:15 (Compal IFL90) w/WSXGA+ screens will resume shipping by August 16th

Finally!

The supply of PowerPro J 10:15 (Compal IFL90) has been very scarce but has now finally broken loose.

The first large shipment is now in country and will be followed by regular shipments. We will begin shipping on the 16th and expect to have all back orders filled between then and the last week in August. New orders taken today will be shipped starting the week of the 27th.

I would like to hear from Justin from XoticPC on this. I just spoke to someone on the phone over at Xotic who says there's no way that these are available or will be for about 3 more weeks.

ok I hope we hear the same news from our friends at xotic...
I hope this is the case there too because I am about a day away from switching to the g1s.

 

Why would you switch to the more expensive G1s when you could just switch to PNB from Xotic? You'd probably get your IFL90/PP J10:15 from PNB faster than a G1s and save at least a couple hundred depending on how you configure.

This is truly great news. Thanks for the update Donald. I've been waiting since June 20 so looks like I'll hopefully get in just under 2 months. Is PNB shipping already built laptops on the 16th? Does this mean if mine was fortunate enough to ship on the 16th that I would possibly see it on the 17th (Friday) since I have NBD? Maybe too much to predict this far out.

 

I sure hope that somehow it will reach me before the 23rd of August.

You guys received my money on the 13th of June.

So I'm all hopes that I'll get mine in this shipment.. And hope even more that there will be no reason to send it back!

I danced until the sidewalk cracked and the police came.

Told them the IFL90 was about to be shipped, and they started dancing too.

 

This may be true, although I still would expect it to be a couple weeks before there IFL90s are moving smoothly.
I think changing resellers at this point would be counter-productive for me as I pre-ordered june 20th and am in the very next shipment, whenever that is. Thats why I am hoping the situation is the same there too.
I understand what I would gain/loose by switching to the G1s but I am in a time crunch and need a laptop very soon, and I dont have one I can use temporarily.

 

Wow. I ordered the IFL90 on June 20th too, but from PNB. WSXGA matte screen. We'll have to see who get it first. Good luck, but I hope I'm first. Changing does seem like it could add delay, but you probably won't know until it's too late. My temp laptop sucks. It's only WXGA. I spend more time scrolling then working.

 

Any updates on the TV Tuners, or are you still expecting those next month?

 

Xotic PC will be shipping with the same schedule as PowerNotebooks.

 

This calls for a happy dance, maybe even a truffle shuffle.

 

There is no ETA on TV Tuners at this time.

 

Why does the Compal start shipping earlier than the Sager?

 

Actually they didn't...Sager started shipping on the 14th.
