Does anyone know the difference between PowerPro and Sager? On Powernotebooks.com they appear to use the same platform. (At least in the 15.4" offering). I can't seem to get Sager up here in Canada, so I have emailed Powernotebook to try and get one shipped up here. Great options and they have an impeccable reputation.

Not quite positive, but think PowerPro machines are PowerNotebooks' own versions of lines available from Sager, Asus and elsewhere. Options are slightly different, and I think a main feature of PowerPro laptops is that they have three year warranties included in their prices.

    I've been considering a PowerPro J 10:14.

yeah, I'm seriously looking at the Powerpro 10:15. Wicked features and at a great price, if I can get them to send one up here to Canada!!!! I ALMOST ordered an Alienware m15 today. Man, have they ever got a horrible reputation. I'm glad I have held off. The Powerpro or Sager will be PERFECT if they will build and ship to me. I think you are right about the OEM labelling thing with Powerpro. I've ben googling it, and have come to the same general conclusion. The 10:14 is a consideration for me too. Looks great, but do you know if it comes in any other colour than white?

I honestly don't know, but like white, personally. Give PowerNotebooks a call and ask them - they're very easy going folks and will give you straight answers. This is really all I can find - and FYI, I started a thread about this machine not too long ago. Not much info seems to be available other than from this site.

Hey, check-ot XOTIC pc..... they do the Compal 3'rd party labelling too, called "Force".. Wow, I just opened up a whole can of worms. They DO ship to Canada, and their prices are GREAT!!!! Gonna check-out the 14" platform you were loking at. I like the lid-latch on there. The 15" does not have one.

Am aware of XOTICPC (have only read good stuff about them), but thanks. If I buy that machine, I'll be going with PowerNotebooks. Just like their style and how they conduct their business.

Good luck with your own purchase.

Thanks. I would like to buy from Powernotebook too, just because of their reputation. I guess I'll have to see who can get one to Canada. Prices are only 20 dollars apart, similarly configured. Good luck with your purchase.

Sager and PowerPro are essentialy the same thing. One of the better kept secrets of the laptop world is that most notebook companies don't actually make their own machines, they outsource their production to a handfull of ODMs. (orinigal design manufactues) Sager laptops are actually rebranded Clevos and if they look the same as PowerPro's it's because PowerPro does the same thing. The only companies that I know of that make thier own hardware are ASUS and Micron.
