It will take about 4 business days to begin shipping.
Orders with the TV Tuner and/or Bluetooth will not be released to production until late next week.
All other configurations including orders with 1x2GB or 2x2GB will be released to production immediately.
Our latest update for the WSXGA+ screens is that they will arrive in our warehouse late next week, and begin shipping the following week.
Here is the Sager NP2090 Press Release which is slightly different.

Props to Donald for the news! Thanks!! (Why didn't i order WXGA grrrr)
-
seems like the WXGA+ are gonna be waiting maybe till the beginning of Aug?
thanks for the update tho -
Very very nice. Two happy things in one day. Thank you.
Steven -
Hmm still no certainty on the WXGA+.... argh...
-
Thanks for the update. I am crossing my fingers that the orders come next week.

At this point while there is no certainty it does appear that things are indeed rolling in and we should be shipping them shortly. -
I was told by xotic they would be recieving WSXGA before WSXGA. Is this possible or are all resellers getting them in this order?
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
They are coming in at the same time for everyone. The WXGA are here, and the WSXGA+ will follow shortly.
-
Wow that's strike 4 for misinformation. Awesome.
-
Exciting news for all you IFL90 lovers... All of your asking "is it here yet" can finally be put to rest
I can't wait for the reviews folks. These are great looking machines!
Go PowerNotebooks.com! -
I've never wrote a review before (never had a laptop), but I think I will give it a go once mine arrives
Steven -
heh i was going for a go too since i have nothing to do over summer. but its going to be probably quite bad since that would be the first time i would be a review.

We just got the Bluetooth modules in so there will no delay on WXGA orders because of this.
Therefore the only delays will be for those who ordered the TV Tuner...
We are building them as fast (albeit carefully with a full burn in) as we can -
Any time table on when the TV Tuners will be in?
-
Hopefully Xotic recieved them too as I ordered from them... -
This post doesn't apply to Sager NP2090s even though they are the same computer, right? The Sager people in California's working on that, I think.

While we get the barebones IFL90 shells at about the same time (within 1 day of each other) the components that go into them will differ from time to time depending on inventory levels. -
Either Donald or Justin, any update on the WSXGA screens?
-
If they arrive late this week and begin shipping the following week does that mean customers will get them in their hands the following week of the 23-27, or the week after that? -
Hate to be bearer of bad news but the WSXGA+ screens will most likely not be in this week. Maybe next week. Or the way that it is going... maybe next month or next year.
Very frustrating. I REALLY wanted mine by the 27 of this month but no dice. Just talked to my reseller and he told me to call next week to get an update. Not the resellers fault, purely this fiasco lies on Comapl's shoulders.
BTW, I've had mine ordered since June 4th. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
The WSXGA+ are not in stock yet. We are working to get them in as soon as we can but they will not arrive this week either as previously reported.
I will gladly update when solid information is available.
-

We realize how frustrating this is for all of us.
Unfortunately there is no benefit in losing patience, or trying to guess when they will start shipping, or asking us when they will start shipping. We will announce updates as soon as we get them.
We are really sorry for this delay and appreciate your understanding that we are all standing on the pier waiting for our ship to come in. -
Hey Justin, if I cancel my Compal order and order a Sager with the WXGA screen, would I be able to get it quicker?
-
Oh, good question!
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Even I can answer that one
Sager, Xoticpc and PowerNotebooks.com will be getting the next shipment of WXGA models at the same time. If you cancel your order with Xoticpc you will lose your place in line and go to the back of the Sager line.
Conclusion...not quicker -
Thanks for the response Donald. Appreciate it. I'll add to your rep. -

These are not questions for the forum...
Your reseller would not be likely to discuss the details of your order in an open forum, so please contact them directly for answers regarding an order that has already been placed. -
I actually find it somewhat humorous that the WSXGA+ screens that were the only option when I pre-ordered will come in later than the WXGA's that didn't seem to be an option but for a few weeks maybe ago.
So what will be in first? Matte WSXGA+ (Which I ordered from powernotebooks) or the glossy screen?Either way I'm matte all the way!
Thank you for the updates sir! -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Ok, so I am going to double post...shoot me if you like but here is our official announcement:
"We just received our first shipment of the WSXGA+ (1680x1050) screens, but we only got a very few. We now expect we will receive yet another shipment next week and hopefully all pre-orders will ship by the end of July or at the latest in early August."
Sager received their first few as well, and they also hope to maintain the same shipping schedule as ours. -
*crossing fingers for Donsell*

Good Point!
-
Hooray, some good news at last!
Here's hoping I get mine before the end of the month. I'd hate to show up to Quakecon on the 2nd with only my old CL56/M 5:6. It's still a fine laptop for the most part, but the 9700 in there is getting a bit long in the tooth.
Out of curiosity, what's the brand is the memory that these are shipping with, for those of us that opted not to spring for Corsair? -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
It is major brand RAM such as Infineon, Kingston and other major brand modules that have been tested and certified for the machine.
-
Thanks Donald for the update! This is very good news.

Is there any way to get an estimate if our place in line will allow us to get in on the first shipment? Or will we have to wait until they ship?
-
You are probably just going to have to wait. I don't know if they are still short on the memory sticks or tv tuners. You'll probably find out in a few days.
-
-
-
-
Really?! June 15th and you still don't get anything. Well that really says something for my July 6th.

I know someone who ordered a Dell Inspiron 1420 and had a delay HALF as long as what we are experiencing and Dell gave him a $100 concession coupon. I'm sure they are compensating all of their customers who are experiencing delays.
I think 'please be patient' can only go so far from a professional reseller. The original shipping date has been pushed back 2 MONTHS. We are entitled to some sort of compensation.
And yes I am aware that 'they have no control over shipments', but as a professional retailer they should have been aware of this from the beginning and been prepared to make the proper compensations. -
Power to the people I say!
-
I wish I had mine too, but instead of whining, why dont you switch to the 1520? As Donald said, there are FAR more things involved in shipping out thousands of notebooks than most people think. The wait has been long, but Compal has never ONCE lied and said they WILL be here on a certain date. They gave an estimate. It proved wrong. Twice. If you didnt have the time to wait in the first place, you had no right ordering a laptop that wasnt even released yet. MANY MANY products have been pushed back from expected release dates. It's a fact of life.
Quit asking for money from it, that's just about as ridiculous as all the frivolous lawsuits floating around nowadays. They don't and shouldnt have to "give people money" for waiting.
There are more things involved in manufacturing and shipping out these notebooks than anyone realizes. Multiple countries? Yes. Multiple screen sizes? Yes. Other products that may have gotten a bid? Probably. They could be having a shortage of certain types of screens, or some other component out of our control.
Next time, do me a favor and order a laptop that's already out.
(Yes. I whined at one point. But I saw the light.) -
-
All that talk about being "entitled" a compensation is really annoying. Whining about it on the forums is just posturing: all talk and no action. If you really think you are owed something, call your reseller and threaten cancellation and then follow up on your threat if you don't get satisfaction.
