Lemur is exactly right. Complaining to a forum does nothing. If you're really that dissatisfied cancel. Vote with your feet. I've waited about as long as anyone. I had a huge need for a reliable laptop last week that I had to make other arrangements. I'm on record at being disappointed with the delay, I've looked at alternatives, but chose to say with the Powerpro.

We're not entitled to anything but to be given the best information that the dealer can give. If you think you'll be treated better by Dell consumer go for it. In my experience though you won't be.

It wasnt out when most ordered it.

And thats all nice, but it hasnt been two months. The estimated date was mid june. It's now a little past mid july. Closer to one month. And some products scheduled for release have been pushed back YEARS (Video games anyone?). As I said before, the wait could be one month or twelve years, and Compal still isnt responsible for paying everyone that preordered.

If you don't like the fact they can't get it to you in time, cancel the order. It's free to do.

Otherwise, stop complaining please. No one is entitled to money because of a release date getting pushed back.

Oh, and Dell? So what if they are handing out coupons. Do you want me to quote the "if your best friend jumps of a bridge do you have to too?" speech? Dell could be giving all their laptops away free that were late, and Compal still wouldnt be any more required to hand out money.

I agree wholeheartedly that people shouldn't be talking about getting money back, etc. If its that big a hassle for anyone then they should cancel out of principle so they don't give the source of their frustration money. I do think though that everyone that has pre-paid has every right to complain, although you may want to make a thread for it and not muss up the entire forum.

    Also....
The difference with that example is that nobody took pre-payment for it.

Yes that's what date it is NOW, but the shipping dates we are getting for the WSXGAs from xotic and PN are mid august.

And nobody ever preordered a video game years in advance or needed it desperately as an educational tool before classes start.

Did they mention when the second shipment of WSXGAs are coming in? Or is still up in the air? If I'm not in the first shipment and if it is a long time for the second, then I'll have to cancel. I really don't want to, but my desktop is close to dying and I desperately need a computer for school which starts in a week and a half. :O

Yes. My friend pre ordered Twilight Princess when it was first announced, about a year ahead of time. Come close, they decided to push it back another year so they could dual release on Wii. I know that's a smaller scale, but it shows that it DOES happen.

And as I've said before, if you KNEW you needed it by a certain date, you shouldnt have preordered something that wasnt out, and that had estimated shipping dates.

not many were in that first "shipment" if that's what you want to call it. It did come by late july like they said, but there were only what-15 of them? From what i could gather from other posts, there are currently several hundred orders for this notebook. how many orders are wsxga we don't know, but im willing to bet a good amount are.

they've only given us estimates as of far. I dont think they have a date/info on quantity about thte next shipment. justin@xotic made a post saying they're coming in "soon" He also told me that orders from this week will ship out at the earliest mid-august. Donald from powernotebooks seems to be more optimistic, saying in a post that most preorders will be proccessed late july/early augst. all I can say is keep hoping and make sure to have a backup (one from a local store is best) in mind. also note that it may take a bit to ship depending on the option you chose..

i know how ya feel-im heading to school and just ordered myself. im already obsessing over this thing XD
