I just want to say I have had a problem free whitebook for about 10 months. This is with Vista 64bit.

I am kind of confused because Vista is supposedly unstable etc. and I have had lots of problems with my desktop even though drivers are all updated and such.

Has anyone else had a problem-free Whitebook?
Or is this common? Because it seems like other laptop brands and laptops in general have had minor problems.

Big thumbs-up to the Whitebook! I actually enjoy using it more than my desktop 30" + 24" now.

If you have had problems, what were they? I am curious so I can see what might happen later down the line...thanks

    Just any problem in general....

I'm more worried about potential hardware problems..

you have no problems. all drivers are design for vista x86 and x64.
you can have a few minor problems with xp x86 and x64.
    windows 7 also works great.
    didn't tried mac OS.
linux is also possible. some hardware doesn't work

I was problem free for about a month and then started getting random BSODs and wierd network connection issues after a series of driver updates. Every time I thought I tracked the problem down to a specific driver it would turn out I was wrong.

Finally wiped the drive and re-installed with only the original drivers and have been problem free again.

Same here. Heard all the negative stuff about Vista, but no problems or complaints and the Whitebook boots up fast and is very responsive. Only problem I have is hardware-related: lost my trackpad pointer, but who uses that clunky thing anyway? I use a Bluetooth mouse all the time.

Mainly, my screen is still perfect after six months - not a single dead pixel (knock on wood).

I use my Whitebook mainly for internet and e-mail; been out of overclocking and gaming for the last three years. My overclocked desktops are too damn noisy to run. And since the 17" Whitebook is so big and heavy (and runs only about 90' under battery), I've relegated it primarily to desktop service, sitting on a Zalman cooler. For portable gaming, I will be getting an Asus notebook soon with the 9300GT, mainly for passing the time on long plane rides. Plus battery life is something like 4-5 hrs.

I think the Whitebook is pretty light for a 17"...I have an easy time using it in the living and bringing it around the house.

I don't consider it big at all....but the AC Adaptor is HUGE for a laptop. Definitely not portable.

If i use calculator and play solitar or move my mouse relly relly fast in circules, then I am problem free just like you!!!

If i game, Left for Dead, Team Fortress 2, unreal Tournament 3, i get chopping/stuttering and the laptop slows down way to much.

spec: 4gb ram 1333mhz ocz ram == qx9300 cpu == crossfire 3870 == 16 lbs laptop that was overpriced and i wanna kill my self.

mine experience hasn't been so trouble-free. I cant get ATI Catalyst to install and I encounter stuttering in games.
However, system is great when editing HD in Adobe Premeire.

Can't say I've been problem free, I've been getting random stutters ever since I bought the computer. I'm going to downgrade my QX9300 to an X9100 and hopefully my problems will be gone :(
