Hi everyone,
I got a Znote 6615WD that I have huge problem with.
The problem is that when I start to play a game, Like Medieval2 or WW2OL I can play like 10 minutes then the computer either gets a BSOD or it just freezes.
When it does a BSOD I some times get the famous "Infinite loop NV4_DISP.DLL" or "Memory fault". I've tried new drivers for video card, sound card, etc. But nothing seems to fix my problem.
The computer have been at Zepto for service but they couldn't find anything that was wrong with it. (It took em almost 4 weeks to figure that out, 3,5 week they didnt do anything with it).
Anyone else experience the same problem as I do?????
Thx for any advice!

Have you overclocked your video card? There may be a heat issue. Try cleaning out all the vents with canned air. A cooling pad may be in order.
-
Nope no overclocking, I got a BSOD 3 times the first day i got it
And ive cleaned it so theres no dust inside it.
-
Just making sure, but have you cleaned out the fan as well? Also, do you know what your temperatures are when it shuts down?
I'd suggest a quick read through of the cooling guide. -
Yes Fan is clean.
I havent figured out how to display the temp on the 6615wdso I cant answer that question.
But I've tried to put the Laptop on two books to get more air flow for the fan but that didn't help.

You can run either Notebook Hardware Control or RM Clock to give you the temperatures.
Was this problem present from the beginning or did it develop over time?
I'm starting to think it's a faulty hardware or software installation though. The fact that the service center had it should rule out the hardware issue (ideally). Have you considered a full reformat? -
Get the most recent drivers for the VGA and the soundcard use solve this problem. Try download them from the Zepto FTP: ftp.zepto.dk
If they don't, be sure you have removed the old ones completely before installing the new. -
I've reformated and reinstalled Windows 3 times. Updated the nVidia and Realtek drivers to the latest one on zeptos ftp site. I've tried like 10 different nvidia drivers and the latest Realtek drivers from their homepage. But no luck
Each time I've used Driver Cleaner to completely wipe out the previous drivers.
I tried your suggestion Chrisyano and took a look on the heating of the CPU and after 10 minutes the cpu is up on 95 degrees Celsius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if im not wrong Intel specification says that the CPU will shut down at 97 degrees, right? So this might be problem with the computer. -
Which program did you install? NHC or RM Clock? If it's RM Clock, I just want to make sure that you're not looking at the T Junction temperature.
95 degrees Celsius is very hot. Is your fan running? Another thought is that your heatsink is not properly attached.
In the meantime, I would suggest you send a PM to MKJ-Zepto on NBR. Here's his profile:

I've used NHC.
But surely if the heatsink wasn't attached properly the Zepto would see this right? It has been in for service once and the service told me that they had put on more coling paste so they must have been looking at the heat sink. The Fan is wokring but since I've had a Dell 9100 to compare with, Its awfully quiet
I've started up the logging function now to see how the tempreature flucturates. Will post it here when its done. -
The Arctic Silver 5 actually goes on the processor. It's possible they didn't look at the heatsink--although you would think that they'd check that if heat was the issue.
In the meantime, I strongly suggest you send MKJ - Zepto a PM. He's helped a number of members resolve their issues. You may have to do an exchange. -
Im not sure. But it seems that, a large percentage of the instability problems with Zepto computers, has to do with overheating.
This is from an earlier thread. Where MKJ - Zepto replied to Juan.
I think your laptop is defective, and need to be fixed.

Hi! i have a zepto 6214w and are very happy with it.
But i managed to uninstall the audio driver and now the sound function keys arent working (volume increase/decrease and mute). How can i get theese to work again?. i have installed the drivers from zepto.dk ftp site.

This isn't really the thread but could you try doing a system restore to before you uninstalled them? I usually do that if I mess up something

#1 Try to upgrade your bios to the newest at: ftp://ftp.zepto.dk/Znote6615WD/BIOS
-
Did the upgrading BIOS actually do something useful for you, Bam? I'm not experiencing too much heat issues (around max. 80-82 degrees on long stress) here, on the original BIOS that came pre-installed.
-
I have not upgrade my bios yet, but i thinking i do it soon, because my zepto freeze when i play games, and i have heard it can fix it, i'm run with 1.07 now.
-
Hasn't frozen here yet, but do let me know if it f.ex helps keep temperatures lower or does something dramatic for you, and I might then change too.
