    Hi,

About 50% of the time I reset my laptop, the screen doesn't turn on and the computer appears to not start up. I then have to hold down the power button until the laptop turns off and then I turn it back on again to start up. This has been a problem that I've had with it from the start (I got it in early December), however it has just recently become annoying enough that I've decided to do something about it.

I few things I've noticed: it appears to only happen on resets, I don't think I've ever had it happen from a cold start. Also, it definitely gets worse after I do system updates such as just after Windows Update installs some updates or after installing a new video card driver.

Any thoughts as to what might be causing this issue?

It's probably BIOS related though, right? I'm kinda hoping it's not cause I'm not sure I can handle the danger of a BIOS flash.....

I see, actually I have experienced that too, that's why I always turn off the laptop and I do a cold start after to have made some updates, it would seems that vista doesn't end all the applications or release all the devices when we do a Restart.

I have the same problem you have when i got the S-Video cable connected and the tv is on, must of those times the desktop is on the tv. Btw i still haven't found a driver that gives me s-video and a proper 3dMark06 score

    My bios version is 1.12

I'm surprised, I wouldn't have thought this would be an OS issue.

What do you mean my proper 3dMark06 score? Like you can't get S-video to work at all?

I can get it to work, but comparing 3dMark06 scores between the drivers that S-video doens't work with the one that does, to score goes down 500 or 600 points.

If you are indeed using 156.56 or whatever to get s-video to work, then yeah your 3dmark score is going to be a lot lower than the newer more optimized drivers from laptoptogo.

I'm using 174.31 with s-video right now though.... so I have no idea why s-vidwo wouldn't be working for you...

What kind of TV is it?

I think is the OS, but I could be wrong. I have heard other people using linuxes OS's without experiencing the same problems.

Ah sorry, didn't realize that the price displayed is the lowest possible. In the end it's about the same.
