When I play 3d games, my wifi occasionally stops working and won't work again until I restart the computer. It didn't happen too often with most games but Fallout3 seems to set it off every time I play. At first I though that Intel Proset wireless was the culprit (it was giving me a "problem applying profile" error) but disabling it didn't fix the problem (windows seems to forget I even have a wireless card)).

Is it possible that the wireless card is overheating? Or could this be some kind of weird driver issue? Has anyone had this happen before?

Try updating to the latest drivers available on the intel website and also get rid of pro/set, it is useless imho.

So you're not using pro/set? Why? I never had problems.

Because it is redundant. And the Windows zeroconf does a great job at managing my wireless hardware.

Ah Ok. I'm used to proset. I like the icon in the task tray. :D

i agree with ayle.. if the windows configuration works fine.. why waste extra resources on having something else perform the same task at the same level? seems pointless to me
