My notebook can't detect any CD, whether it is blank or if it is a media disc. But, it can read DVDs. The diagnostics for D drive "agree" with what is going on-only the DVD drive works. I'm just wondering what I should do.

try going into device manager and uninstalling the drive. then scan for hardware changes. it will then reinstall the drive and it may work again. prolly just a driver issue.

Thanks, but it didn't seem to work. Now my notebook can occassionaly burn/detect a blank CD but won't read any audio CD's. iTunes seems to be having some problems with it too when I try to burn a CD from there.
