I have a Zepto 6625 with a Samsung DVD Drive, now the problem is that the drive performs very well in reading DVD's however when burning a DVD movie (approx 4Gb ) it takes more than one hour (which is a lot of time). As regards to programmes I use Nero 8.

Does anyone have a possible solution about the problem.

I would also appreciate any tutroials on how to remove the DVD drive.

    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Lawrence

    Hi.

It could be the Samsung detecting the dvd-r as 1x speed and it will take 1 hour+ to write a dvd at 1 speed.

Either try a different brand of dvd-r or see if you can update the dvd-rw bios to a new version.

The program below will tell you the dvd speed, make sure you have a dvd inside when you run it!

I doubt it is the speed since at a certain point (Around 86%) it tells me that the writing process failed , but thanks for the help.

First see this thread then check if you have the latest firmware.

What speed is Nero using for burning the disc? Did you try any other brand of disc?

Finally, there is probably one fixing screw for the optical drive on the bottom of the notebook. It will be close to the edge of the drive (which is approximately 13cm square). After removing the screw then eject the tray so you can grip some metal before pulling.
