Been getting a lot of freezes while playing counter-strike source and team fortress 2 won't even get past the loading screen.
Anyone have similar problem or even know of a fix?

I play both of those games with no problems. If you've got a good connection, you might want to uninstall/reinstall steam.

System specs would be helpful BTW.. ;)

If you haven't updated your video drivers from http://laptopvideo2go.com yet, now would be a great time to do so. Read up in the Gaming (Software and Video Cards) forum here on notebookreview.com

Thanks for the tip on the drivers. I think that may have solved it. I was able to sucessfully load tf2 and so far no freezes. Was only playing a short while though. Will keep you updated.

You can also uninstall the NVIDIA driver for the VGA controller.
When you then reboot the machine it should detect an MS update after several minutes.
Then install the update to get new driver with the WHQL check, and test your games again.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To install driver by hand and keep them up to date but not always with WHQL check this info

If you like OC then use the 169.04 or the 169.09 for the best power with the Compal notebook.
These drivers are very stable on Compal.

You can download them from this website: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com

Th OC use the Nvidia Ntune tool: http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.05.54.00.html
