well....first of all your laptop dose NOT eat mine since their the same things ;)
    and bought from ISTNC!

ok now to the issue in hand
hmmm. i dont know why its doing that....mine never did it...even when i was playing FEAR...
um....did you install the latest graphics/wireless/networking drivers??

try this utility for CPU management: Notebook Hardware Control (just google it)

PS: I LoVe my notebook! and ISTNC! (they give me a free DVD writer even though nothing on their said about it...and a free Intel Pro abg wireless card)...but my notebook never had a problem.......maybe you can contact rick and ask him about it ??

What are your CPU temps like? And like deedeeman said, try undervolting with NHC if you haven't already. Finally, what BIOS are you using? Try updating to the latest one here, as some early versions of the KN1 bios did have heat issues.

yeah...that is very odd especially for a Quanta (which in my opinion is one of the best notebook in the world)

Disable Automatically Restart under My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery
Might help you find out exactly how/why it's shutting down.

Also, try checking the temperatures if you suspect that's the problem. :)

Since I usually play WoW for hours on end without problems, all I can suggest that hasn't already been suggested is to open it up and clean it out.

Even after a month or so, a lot of dust gets trapped in there. I usually unscrew the fan as well for better access to the vents.

And deedee stop being such a quanta fanboy. Our laptops aren't the best thing in the world, especially considering the kn1 came out over a year ago now.

I agree -- there is no such thing in IT industry as "best thing" (in performance terms). After 0.5 year top notch computer stops being top notch.

But I like my Quanta - it works stable, is fast enough and design is business-like.

    To "missingtasks":
try to upgrade your BIOS if you don't did it already. Sabio renewed downloadable BIOS'es on their site recently.
