So I wanted to get a Vizio laptop but was wondering why they took so long to come out after when they initially said they would be available(early july?). Was there a known problem with them or was it just poor planning from vizio?

They claimed they did not have enough stock to meet demand. Not sure if this is true, they may have been working on something.
