Hi, I was wondering how much pressure I can I put on the closed, outside lid of the laptop, without doing any damage to the LCD?

For example, can I highlight text documents on it? I live in a dorm, and the laptop pretty much takes up all of my desk space and unplugging and moving my laptop every time I need desk space is annoying.

    Thanks for the help

It has rubber stoppers around the bezel, so it should be able to take quite a load (though this is ill advised).

i would think that would be fine as long as you are not pushing to hard

lol ughh 20 pounds ....really it matters if the weight is distributed or like pushing on one spot

hard for me to say cause my lid is a skull cap...those things are really strong

OK, I am going the other way on this...turn your laptop on and press GENTLY on the back of the lid--you will see a little distortion is you put enough pressure on it.

I think the lid could have been reinforced much more than it is and I would advise against highlight on top of it--better safe than sorry in my view
