the only part of my IFL90 that ever seems to get warm is the lower left palm rest area.

In games like Garys mod.. this area can get uncomfortably warm and sometimes even feel hot.

From what i gathered from the disassembly guide, tis is where the RAM is.

Is ram really supposed to get warm like this?

Is it a threat to the rest of my system?

    (Also, off topic a bit)

When I look at my computer properties it says T7300 @ 2.00Ghz 1.18Ghz.

    Is that wrong?

    Thanks guys!

    :p

I'm not familiar with Compals, but everything you said seems pretty normal. RAM does heat up, it shouldn't get "hot", but it can get fairly warm.

The processor is underclocking itself to save battery power. Run a game and then open up the task manager at the same time, it should show 2ghz or 1.99.

Yes it is, you can try to run memtest from dos and it will probably begin to fail after an hour or so, but in real life ram doesn't get such massive loads. The RAM chips themselves are to hot to hold finger on them.
