    Well its more a general question.. if anyone's tried and had positive results with one of the many "RAM Optimization" software out there.

    Hi. I can highly recommend a program called freeram xp pro. It is freeware. (although they accept donations) It takes up little space, operates in the background and gives you a monitor to watch the usage. It has things you can set so that it will attempt to free up ram when it falls below whatever level you choose, along with some other options. You can find it in many places including download.com. I have used this with several versions of windows without a single hitch. Rex.

    Another good tool is RAM Idle...but ya gotta pay for it (i'm cheep/broke so I do freeware when I can).
