does anyone have this laptop? How has it performed? Heating, fan noise etc?

I’m trying to decide between this and the MSI GE75. It really good reviews and specs and performance seems to be amazing with great sound, heating and fan noise. Unfortunately it’s also so ugly and expensive.

The recoil seems a cheaper option and I can add more memory and Ram and it is still cheaper. I have however heard hearing is an issue with it. Also I have no found any reviews kn this laptop so would be buying blind.

    Can anyone help?

Recoil 3? Where did you get the model name from?

If I'm not mistaken PC Specialist Recoil 3 is based on TongFang chassis.

Actually Recoil 3 17" version based on TongFang GK7CP7S and 15" based on TongFang GK5CP6Z

£2200 is my max which is how much the msi is. The tongfang is cheaper and I can add more ram and storage but I don’t want to buy it without reading/watching reviews as the msi has great reviews

    Have you considered Clevo P775TM1-G with i7 9700K or i9 9900K.

From PCS you can get i7 9700K/RTX2070/32GB/1080p IPS for £2024 with 2yr warranty. (No OS or HDD)

You can get Win 10Pro key from ebay for less than £5 and get Sabrent/Corsair/Pioneer 2tb NVME ssd for £220

P775 is not a lightweight system but extremely flexible when it comes to spec.

Try Defiance VI (Clevo P970RD) with RTX 2080Max-Q

    https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/13519/

Whatever you buy don't select HDD/SSD and OS(or any software). They are cheaper from other sellers.

If you're going to settle for a thin and light BGA system (or you want that) the TongFang models are probably the best option available. They are branded as Walmart OverPowered, HIDevolution EVOC 16GK5, Eluktronics MECH, CUK Model Z (Amazon seller) and a ton of other rebranded options.

Sadly, the 17 inch (would otherwise be my preference) is made of plastic, whereas the 15 inch has a much nicer metal lid and palm rest. Pricing among vendors is very similar. The cheapest way to get one is wait for them to go on sale at Walmart (if you are in the US). They have sold for under $1,000 USD, which is pretty tempting even if you hate crippled BGA laptops. Hard to argue with such a low price for what you get if you're looking for something cheap but capable to play games on.

These TongFang products are priced more in line with the way all BGA throttlebooks should be priced. As such, they can actually provide a degree of value since they are surprisingly inexpensive and full-featured compared to all of the grossly overpriced rubbish alternatives with the same CPU/GPU specs, gawdy looks and inferior cooling that have flooded the market.

These reviews are from members of our community (Brothers @B0B and @OWNORDISOWN).

And, even LTT recommends them. (Ignore David Lee... he is full of baloney.)

Agree 100%... same goes for the OS. You can get Windoze OS X Pro from Kinguin.net or eBay for 75-80% less. Between the drives and OS you can probably save $200 or more buying your own somewhere else.

I got Win 10 Pro key from ebay for £1.49 and nearly 7 months later still activated. Its "volume licenses" key as when I insert the key, during installation windows showed VL agreement. Everybody said it'll deactivate in few months but working so far. Even if deactivated, I'll buy another key for same price as it's still extremely cheap.
