Is it possible to record with the zepto laptops and audio?
With XP based machines, you can record the "stereo mix", or "what u hear"... vista has the clever idea of disabling this:

There are steps to do it:

Which is basicly go to the recording panel, right click and show hidden options. Now with most drivers, apparantly there is a stereo mix option in there.... so far, I can't see the sound carddrivers from the zepto site having any options like this though.
It's a little bit frustrating, another vista problem i guess! What it means is, that unless there is a workaround, that you can't record streams or sound coming from your own pc by the looks... besides the microphone of course.

I can't record what I here with my Inspiron 1501. But I got it with XP Home, which is still what's on there. -

I found a solution, but thank you ausvet!
So yeah... I figured it out. You will need to install the latest Realtek Drivers, current version 1.86. This will enable a "stereo mix" option in your sound control panel, then you can record.

Im having 1.81 on my 6625 and I have the stereo mix option in sound panel in vista prem.
Always had it, without enabling some show hidden options? -

SuperRoach, this driver has been available from Zepto's FTP since 7th of Feb. 2008:
ftp://ftp.zepto.dk/Znote6324W/Drivers/Vista/32Bit/Audio/Realtek_HD_Audio_R1.86_Vista_32bit.zip
We try to update especially the audio drivers as fast as we can as we know that these are also very much in the development stage right now and bugfixes and new features (that where available under XP) are added all the time. Especially Realtek are releasing official drivers very often for Vista compared to other manufacturers. -
I think Audacity has a stereo-mix option!
