    Hello,

Two friends of mine both own the same Compal HEL-80 notebook as I do. Both of their screens have died (started with purplish/red tint at low brightness, after a while completely dead), so they're looking for a replacement LCD. A service center nearby has replacement screens in stock at the price of €350, quite expensive.

My Compal HEL-80 laptop came back with a new screen after one of its many repairs. I'm very pleased with the colors, brightness and contrast, so I searched for the panel type (CLAA154WB05A) on eBay, and found this item: http://cgi.ebay.com/CHUNGHWA-CLAA15...5|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50

My question is, will this LCD panel fit without problems in a Compal HEL-80 notebook? Or do I have to worry about different connectors or something? $115 (shipping included) is a lot less money than €350, so it'd be definitely worth it. Any comments?

There shouldn't be any problem with the size or the connector as long as you use your own flex cable. You might have to take the braces from your old screen and put them on the new one and that's the only problem I see.
