I have a clients laptop Compal DFY30 -13 (board is a HannStar J MV-4) in for repair - it seems the motherboard has died.. Not to mention there was some sticky residue on the board after disassembling the laptop.

I need a replacement board - however I cannot seem to get any assistance even from Compal. From what I have researched there are Dell models or others that use the same boards - however I cannot find any correlation. If anyone can direct me where to find a replacement it would be greatly appreciated.

I also thought that boards in the Compal laptops weren't proprietary? Unfortunatley not just any board will fit this case.
