Is it possible to replace the processor in the zepto znotes? I have a 6625WD with dual core 1.8GHz processor. I would want to upgrade it to maby 2.2GHz. Is it possible?
I rather replace the processor than clock it, knowing the risks...

I have purchased the laptop from a reseller, not Zepto itself

ah and btw, powered up my zepto first time yesterday :)

You would invalidate the warranty if you replaced a processor yourself. It is quite possible to do though

In theory, there should not be a problem with upgrading the CPU, provided it is supported by the BIOS.

Howver, increasing the RAM and upgrading the HDD are likely to give better value for money in boosting performance instead of upgrading the CPU by one or two steps.

what are your other specs? as john says upgrading the HDD and ram is an easier and more cost efficent thing to do. And this will not void you warranty.

Yeah you can upgrade to a T7500 and T7700 for now. Maybe if intel brings out more Santa Rosa CPUs they will work too. Maybe even Penrym will work, it has the same socket atleast.

An upgrade to Penryn would interest me if it gave substantial power savings. However, Zepto still have work to do with the current 6x24 BIOS to properly support the features of Santa Rosa CPUs.

I was wondering the same thing but with the graphics card.

Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card on a Z-6214W ?

i.e. upgrading to a 8600 Go (which supports DX10 and equips the 6224) or better even...

No you cant upgrade the GPU. It is MXM but its soldered on. Also the 6124 can not take the extra heat and power consumption.

Ok too bad for the gpu.

I have to admit that heat is enough of a serious problem with the 6214w with its existing configuration.

I can't play more than 20 minutes at Stalker without the PC shutting down and this is with a overelevated zepto. (I put it on three 8 cm thick aluminium blocks)... I don't know what else to do. I'm seriously thinking of sending it back for repairs.
