Yes. They benchmarked at the true default of 1280x1024. Most other benchmakrs you see of the 6224w run at 1280x800 because the LCD can not display 1024 high since the max is 990. You need to use an external display to bench at 1280x1024.

Still seems a bit low, considering Zepto showed 3550 with 1440x900, which is basically the same thing as 1280x1024.

Where did you get that number? I have seen 3200-3300 for 1280x1024 benchmarks mostly. The old quick review lists
    3DMark06 (1440x900px) = 3228 for WinXP
    3DMark06 (1440x900px) = 3042 for Vista

Why, it's on the Zepto website...

    4100 @ 1024x768
    3800 @ 1280x800
    3550 @ 1440x900

I hope it's an anomaly, but isn't it possible that it's the actual quality of the laptops?

The "Result - high achievement, bottom quality" heading (page 5) kinda dissuades me a bit. It might just be the translator over-exaggerating...

    The translation is correct.

They say the quality of the case is high. They gave the hinges and the closing mechanism the highest score possible. But they say that the display is not alligned straight and that the keyboard is higher on one side then the other.

The faults sound like the parts used where of high quality but the assemply wasnt right. I am not sure what happened. Maybe Zepto was in a hurry to deliver the laptops for testing to different magazins. Maybe it slipped through the quality check. What I hear from other people who already got the 6324 and 6224, the quality is pretty good. The only fault that really is a fault is that the backlight shines through the lid. Maybe you saw that in the other thread. There is a picture.

Is that only on the 6324? Or does the 6224W suffer as well?

Only the 6324. The 6224 might but just as thin but because it is black the light is blocked.

The mentioned problems (keyboard, display mounting) MAY occur but it seems the site likes making mountains out of molehills. I really don't care that the gap between the display and the main chassis is 0.5mm on one side and 1.5mm on the other side on my 6214W as long as the chassis is stable and the specs please me.

What does the Acer 5920 get for battery life? A 12 cell should be available in a few weeks. It would double the battery life for the ZEpto.

Yes, and let's hope that this 12 cells won't enlarge the notebook, like it happenes for the Dell 1210 & 1330.

This is how a 6615 (previous model to 6625, same dimensions) looks with a 12 cell.
It sticks out 4 cm. (fotocopyright by 'Steveman')

Correct, the 6224 that I have, does not have shin through, the battery life I can not comment on at the moment as I want to cycle it a few times to see what it averages on. I thought of a 12 cell bat. but I have a sleeve and that would be a problem. I took my 6224 out today and the battery life is dependant on what you do as the CPU throttles back to around 1.2Ghz when surfing. I added some Vista gadgets to monitor the CPU, on the 2.4Ghz around 5-22% occupancy when throttle back is in play (1.2Ghz).

Snouf, well funny enough the 12 cell battery is twice the size of the 6 cell battery (surprise), so no matter what it would be bigger than the 6 cell battery :)

Not necessarely that big, or that long

If you look at the 9 cells of the xps 1330, some cells are placed on a downer level, so the back of the laptop is raised up. I allows to avoid 1 cell line on the back, and so to reduce the enlargement.

Sorry if I'm not fully understandable, my english is not that fine.

I didn't find a better picture to show this, but look :

I think the M1330 concept is a bad idea. It will be hard to carry and fit in a bag. It makes the M1330 much fatter and that is harder to carry then longer wider shape. A normal 9 or 12 cell sticks out in the end but it stays flat.
