They only supply you with a Vista 32/64-bit driver CD. I had to ask a rep about it and he provided me with a link to the XP drivers...

    http://www.bizcom-us.com/support/TechSupportDriversDownloadPage.htm#JHL90

The only problem is this site's incredibly slow... 4KB/s download speeds the last time i tried etc. and the drivers total over 1000MB... :/

Could anyone provide recommended drivers etc. assuming a clean XP SP3 install, and perhaps any recommended programs?*

*Currently using FireFox, Gimp, OpenOffice, FooBar2000, 7-Zip, Comodo inc. Def+. - Something for powermanagement might be useful.

    Ps. Touchpad
Would the touchpad's absent scrolling be driver or hardware related? (Nub, I know)
Also, occasonally, when I'm typing, the mouse cursor decides to do random things, as though the left mouse button were clicked.

    Any help's appreciated.

Did you look through the JHL90 threads in the Compal forum? You'll probably get more help there.

    Fair enough...

Btw, it's gotten worse. It's failing to boot now, too. HDD revs up for about a second and then the thing falls silent, no screen activity at all. My boot disk isn't helping, either.

    -_-

Not booting from a boot disk is not good.

First try reseating the RAM then next resetting the BIOS. If the RAM isn't seated properly (and sometimes it can work loose) then the computer will hang very early in the boot process.
