Hi,
Does anyone here have an S37S main board, or an old S37S laptop they no longer use? Mine needs a new main board but the repairers can't source the part any more.
Insurance co only want to give me £250 as compensation if the part can't be found.

Wow - you may just be very lucky. My rizeon is sat at a repair place because they cannot repair the screen, so I am about to see if my insurance will pay for a new laptop. Message me and I will keep you posted.

It was, then they could not fix it so we sent it to repairer recommended by Asus, so it is sat near Manchester at moment.
I have spoken with insurers today, they are coming back to me, but are saying that they will accept a report from the repair place stating the problem and it will be replace by their contracter on a like for like basis.
All I am worried about is my information, my life is on there, so will have to check if they can get that off for me.
Screen took a knock as it slipped off my knee and I grabbed it wonky. It went a bit weird so I shut it down, then when it booted it was black or went into a weird bios screen and just flashed between being sort of on/ioff but never loaded vista, except in safe mode. I could not get it to work on external monitor either.
Repair place say it is screen, but each one they try will not work. I just hope all my info and pics are safe.
What happened to yours, and how did it show itself? -
Just been nosing around, are you aware of this...

Apparently within they state that

First time it would boot up with blue lines all down the intro screens and would only boot in safe mode, and the screen would have a blue tint. Sent it off thru Burnetts to the repairers Mercom who managed to replace the GPU somehow and sent it back. This time (2 months later) the laptop won't boot up at all, when I turn it on the screen is plain white and nothing happens.
Sounds like you might have physically damaged your screen, I don't know what's up with mine. Mercom say it needs a new motherboard but they can't find one, and when I pointed them to the one I found, they said it was a desktop motherboard. I'm still trying to figure out if they are wrong. Who's this Asus repairer you've found? Might give them a ring and see if they have the part or know where I can get one.
Meanwhile the insurers will give me £250 if it can't be fixed. Like that's going to pay for a new laptop!
