I have only read 1 review of this laptop:

    http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?art=2076

I recently bought an Acer Ferrari 4005 but I am sending it back coz it is really cheap and nasty and the keyboard is awful to work on. It has the perfect specs (15.4" 1680 x 1050 screen, X700 2GB RAM etc) but I couldn't use it for too long.

I need a laptop that I can program on, play a few games (Call of Duty 2 and Half-Life occasionally) but I want the 15.4" screen with the 1680 res.

The only decent one I can find (other than 17" monsters :( ) is the Rock Pegasus 650.

Anyone shed any light on this one?

Looks like a really nice laptop, now you have me wondering if there's any place you can get it in the US?

Pegasus is a small brandname which is using barebones from other producers. One of their 12" models I remember is actually uniwill 223ii0. Hopefully, someone would be able to recognize what is the corresponding barebone model of Pegasus 650.

Well, if those are your only two requirements, the first that comes to mind is the Dell Inspiron 6000, which can be had at a pretty good price, including a WSXGA screen (same resolution as yours). Yeah, that Ferrari keyboard strikes me as unusable. I would recommend leaving the RAM at the default and upgrading it yourself - can easily save a few hundred bucks.

I have never heard of this laptop before, but after looking at the price that you can get those specs for its making me interested. However, in that review it says with the GeForce Go6600 w/256mb it only got 1330 3d05marks, this makes no sense since most laptops with this card can esaily get 2500 3D marks. Do you think it was a mistake by the reviewers, or faulty hardware, or what?

Ooooh just found this web site... it is a rock forum from the uk, seems to be pretty good...Here is a review from the site

    Thanks in advance

The Pegasus Rock 650 is a Uniwill 259EN3. I bought one from ibuypower.com called the battalion 101 ml turbo. Ill have pics and review in a week or two.

When it comes from Rock it has a 1680x1050 wsxga+ screen rather than the 1280x800 offered by ibuypower.
