    Greetings all and Happy Hollidays,

Just got my Hannspree SN12E2 from Costco and want to put an SSD in it for improved battery life and speed. Just called Costo Concierge regarding the warranty void issues, and when connected to Hannspree, they confirmed that removing the screw covers will void the warranty.

That said, I will wait for awhile but want to verify that some of you are successfully using SSD's in your SN12E2's. I asked the Hanspree guy about having the drive put in by an authorized center in hopes of preserving the warranty, and he said "SSD's are not supported in this model". When I asked or clarification, he said "they will not work".

So, unless this is an idiosyncracy of the chipset, I know of no reason why an SSD wouldn't *work* in a standard SATA slot under Win7Home, notwithstanding that they just don't want to be bithered with "supporting" it...

So, am I correct that some of you are indeed running your hannsbooks successfully w/ SSD's (I have the Kingston V+ 256GB)

    Thanks all!

    BS
