I have done a fair amount of research and, as best I can tell, the Sager notebook computers seem to be a pretty good deal for the price. While more expensive than the lower end machines (Gateway, eMachines, etc.), they seem to offer a good combination of quality and functionality.

Anybody have any strong opinions about the Sagers? How are their screens? I know the resolutions are very high but how is the overall screen quality? I like the brighter screens (ala Sony Vaio).

Also, any opinions on the various $1500+ machines they offer (3790 through 8790)?

Rick check out this site http://www.notebookforums.com/ there's an entire section regarding Sager and numerous subjective and objective reviews of Sagers performance, screen, build quality, etc. Reviews are posted by numerous owners of each and every Sager model. Site includes an Alienware, Dell, Toshiba, HP/Compaq etc sections as well. I have nothing to do with the site besides finding it very informative.

I have bought 2 Sager laptops from Powernotebooks and am very satisfied with the Sales,
service and product I have received from them. They are by far the most friendly and
professional group of people that I have run across in my many years of working in the
computer industry. I have dealt with many other makers of laptops in my career and pound for pound you cannot find a more configurable, cutting edge brand then Sager. Most, if not all, of the big names cannot or will not give you the ability to configure your system with the latest equipment. And I know this for a fact. The current laptop I have, the Sager NP8890, still has components that other makers are not even offering yet. And their new systems coming out in a couple of months will even be more state of the art and leap that much further ahead of the competition. In my opinion you cannot find a more well respected and user friendly staff anywhere. And if you doubt what I am saying, look them up on Reseller Ratings and look under Top Stores and see who is sitting in the Number 1 slot. Here is a link just for convenience.
