Does Samsung x360 offer the black lid version? I saw the picture somewhere, and I cannot use a purplish colored laptop for work..

Black versions definitely exist. Click on the more pictures link here.

However, the Samsung USA site shows only the red version and it may depend on whatever the country sales office decides to order from the factory.

Yeah I know UK sells the black lid version. It's sad that I love the laptop so much yet I cannot buy a red/purplish one for work.. It just doesn't look appropriate enough. Oh well.

According to my account reps at Samsung, the black model is not planned to be available in the US market at this time.

Our pleasure. Hey! we had our first Samsung come through the lab the other day. The X460-44P is incredible. unbelievable light, sexy looking, well built and will surely drive new fierce competition for both Sony & ASUS. We installed an Intel X25M 80GB SSD in it and that thing just screams! Definitely on my list for Santa!
