Hi,
I'm a bit apprehensive about the fact that 1680 x 1050 might just be too much for my slowly but surely aging eyes![]()
-What are the results when scaling down the resolution to, say 1280 x 800 or even 1024 x 768 ?
-Any specific lower resolution yielding good results?
-What kind of max refresh rates do you get at those different resolutions btw?
Oh and I'm not a gamer, sorry![]()
I'd like to know if the HEL80's ability to scale to lower resolutions is any good for regular suff like web surfing, dvd viewing, non specifically graphic oriented software... (mostly audio stuff actually, that's why I'd still need the power![]()
I just want to know if it gets too blurry for comfort.
Thx in advance

LCDs do not look good at non-native resolutions. You should go look at some if you can. I personally find WSXGA+ perfect for a 15.4" notebook, but everyone is different.

In my experience, lower resolutions, though fine-looking in games, have a distinctive look on the desktop, especially in text. I'd call it usable... but text, and anything with fine lines, does look somewhat blurred.
I imagine the more unpicky sort of person might not be bothered by it...
Definately look first if you're not too blind to notice the difference -
Thx for your replies... Yes, I'll have to "see" for myself, hehe

This is something that's bugging me as well... I'm not sure whether I can handle the 1680x1050 resolution, but there's no way at all for me to find a 15.4" nearby with that resolution...

Oh, and what about ClearType, does it help ?

i was skeptical about the WSXGA+ but now after using it for a few weeks i cannot live without it .. my desktops meager 1280x1024 just doesnt do it for me any more

And what size is your desktop screen? I use 1280x1024 as well, on a 19" LaCie Electron Blue II CRT.
