    Hi everyone

I normally have a problem when playing 1st person/3rd person shooter games. The screen will go blank and it will just be blank until i press the power button and it does not restart it self.I don't think it's a temp problem since i been monitoring the temp and the gpu temp does not even reach 75c.

Does any of you have this problem When Gaming?

    I would appreciate any help.

way2wacky, are you certain thats the right version number you are posting? Rightclick desktop > Nvidia control panel > system information somewhere down in the left corner..

In that dialog it says 'Driver version: xxx.xx

I have the same problem with Assassins creed, after the intro movie the screen froze white. To fix this, I opened the game with direct x 9 instead of direct x 10. Works like a charm. Maybe you should try it aswell, just go to program files, then the company's name that made your game (ubisoft, Ea, ...), and click on the game's name with directx9 behind it.

If your screen turns black, and stays that for a while, but the game recovers itself. It must be the GPU that shuts itself down to cool down for a while. Someone in this forum already said this is commin with the nvidia 8 series that are known for overheating. If that is the case try using a laptopcooler, it worked for me on cod4.
