Has anybody got an idea why, when I switch on the laptop, the green powerlight flashes, then the red light, and the machine won't progress further? The only way to stop it is to press the reset or take the battery out. It won't turn on at all and I'm wondering if it's a problem with the standby battery. If anyone has had this problem before please let me know. When the charger cable is plugged in it still doesn't work.

    JB.

I would guess that you have a bad battery. some laptops wont turn on with out the battery in it. it could also be ur ac adaptor. if u have a multimeter, you can check if voltage is going through ur ac adaptor.
