 I am very interested in purchasing a low-cost,great performance laptop, an Everex Stepnote NC1500 from Walmart. My main reason for going there is the "last" of the layaway process! It will be my first, but my son,who deals with computers all day long, says that Everex is NOT good and says that the processor is so unknown, I shouldn't purchase it. Would LOVE a Toshiba Satellite, but was just laid-off (job now in India!), so $$$ is tight! Thanks to anyone who can help! Linda

i wouldnt trust buying from walmart personally, i had a bad experience with dealing with them, i bought a desktop from them when i needed a comp in a fix well the next day it totally broke wouldnt reboot or anything so i took it back and got another pc somewhere else, but that was my experience anyway maybe you'll have better luck.
