I'm thinking of buying a son vaio Y series, but they don't sell the black version here in Belgium, only the silver one.

So my question is, how is sony's silver paint quality? Does it come off easy, or is it durable?

I created this thread in under 'other manufacturers', because I'd like some info about silver paint quality in general as well.

I'm not a big fan of acer but they made a nice silver edition of their 1810tz aspire laptop, with the Olympics logo on it (makes me think of audi lol).
Eventhough it only has a su4100 (compared to the su7300 the sony y has), the 599€ price surely justifies it. I'm not going to use it for anything else than Word anyway.

So for the people how don't want to read my whole post, if you have a silver painted laptop, please post how it endures daily use.
