Anyone else having any problems with their system when it goes to sleep or when you try to put it to sleep? Someone with a whitebook posted about a problem in the "Windows OS and Software" section and I seem to be having a similar problem. Here is his post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=334065

Anyways, when I try to put mine to sleep, often times the display will shut off by the system will remain on, drives, fans, the works. Other times, when it does go to sleep, I am unable to wake it back up. No matter what I do I am unable to wake it back up and then have to shut it down manually.

    Anyone else having problems?

I've always had issues with Vista and sleep/hybernate. Also, there is a problem with the Sound when the OCZ resumes from sleep/hyb states. Not sure if you've had the issue..but often my sound "skips" when I resume and I gotta reboot to fix it. I've gone ahead and disabled sleep, and removed Hybernate from my setup. Got tired of the issues Vista causes. :)

I've never had those problems mainly because I havent been able to get my system back once it goes to sleep. But for now I just disabled sleep and hibernate.

This is what it lists in everest:

    and
It would be nice to be able to put the system to sleep tho, much easier than shutting it down when I take it somewhere and then having to boot it back up again.

The ones I have installed are the ones that I got from xotic, which according to the readme file are version 9.0.0.1008 and the date is May 01 2008. I'm there have to be more recent ones available. Will have to take a look. Thanx

    EDIT

Well according to Intel's site ( http://downloadcenter.intel.com/fil...dows+Vista*+64&lang=eng&strOSs=150&submit=Go!, these are the most recent.

Although guru3d has version 9.1.0.1007 available here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Intel-C...llation-Utility-9.1.0.1007-download-2134.html

1009 is the newest but they have not changed anything since 1008 so they should be fine.. hmmm has to be something causing the issue,, imo its prob a driver or software related issue

    Luthi,
In the gway forum someone posted this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=333976

It's a sound issue they had with the FX series..anyhow, thats not the point. Download the utility and you may be able to catch the processes that are failing to bring your rig out of sleep/hybernate. Just an idea :)

Thanks Luthi3n for making this thread. I have the same problem, and have not yet found a fix. I'll call xotic pc as soon as I get some free time, but that prb. won't be until early next year.

Well, I've called xotic pc tech support and they told me that this is not something they can normally help me with because I did not purchase the OS from them. So, I'm hoping you guys might be able to provide some more help, if possible. :)

They did suggest for me to start disabling processes in the task manager, starting with HP, but did not offer any help beyond that. I'm a little cornered with randomly ending processes and was wondering if any of you have figured out a fix or have any recommendations of processes to disable?

    Thank you for your help!

In case anyone else is interested, the only fix seems to be a full vista reinstall.
