So, I just ordered a Znote 6224W...

I'm pretty new at these boards so excuse me if I am posting something stupid

For almost three weeks now I have been looking forward to purchase a laptop. I wanted something that was small but at the same time powerful, 14" laptops seemed to offer that solution. I was extremely close to ordereing an ASUS A8Js, but I decided to wait another two days. On Wednesday I happened to stumble across zepto.se (never heard of them) and I saw they were offering the newest technology (Centrino Pro and 8600M GT). I was really surprised because it was only about €100 more than the ASUS A8Js.

I took the plunge and ordered a Znote 6224W with these specs:

Centrino Pro
C2D T7300
2GB PC6400
120GB 5400Rpm
8600M GT 512MB
VHP

I couldn't pay with the credit card because it was offline, so I did the one where I pay when I pick it up at the post office. I noticed that the delivery could take up to 20 days, so I was wondering, since I'm living in Gothenburg Sweden, if it would come within a week? Also I have not recieved any confirmation order in my email, is that something I should be worried about?

I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this laptop. I'm going to Moazambique in October and I wanted a laptop with me to replace my desktop, but I couldn't imagine not having any games on the laptop

That you didnt get a confirmation is normal. You will get one once the laptop is shipped. The 20 days is what you should expect. The laptops are not in stock.

 

Damn I'm not home from 29th May to 11th June. Was hoping that the laptop would arrive sometime 26th or 28th.

Does Zepto ship from Denmark or do they have a assembly in Sweden?

 

They assemble in denmark I think, but you can call zepto on 040-601 31 00 and ask them all of the questions you have

 

I received my confirmation email about 4 days after ordering.

 

Ok, that eases my worry, however, at least in my opinion, it is extremely unprofessional.

Well, then I think I might give them a call and ask. Other than that I just hope I can get it late May

You will probably get a confirmation e-mail tomorrow, as we check all orders manualy before sending confirmations it's normal that you don't get a confirmation the same day if you order on a hollyday (ore after officetime the day before).

All swedish mashines are built in denmark since februari.

I don't think you're able t get the mashine before the 28th. We get the first shipments needed to build the new mashines in the end of the mounth (if the chinease don't screew anything up, you never know with them) and then it takes os a few days to build and ship.

 

Agreed, not very good policy, but I have a feeling they've got their hands full seeing as zepto being the only brand atm in sweden offering geforce 8-series

Anyway, they alsmost always answer the phone / e-mail instantly

 

I ordered two days ago, Zepto Znote 6224W, was also puzzled about the missing order confirmation. I just mailed the support and a few hours later I had the order confirmation in my inbox and answer to the question I had put when i ordered My question was as such, if the Zepto shipped with 1x2GB or 2x1GB, and the answer was 1x2GB which was what i wanted, for future upgrades.

 

Then we're three who´s waiting for a 6224W.
They told me that they were expecting to receive the hardware on the 28th of May, so they expected to be able to send it around the 7th of Juni or so.

 

As also pointed out earlier in this topic the sales people at Zepto check the orders manually before sending out the confirmation email. We haven't, at current time, have an automatic confirmation system. There is being worked on an automatic confirmation system though, but when it will air, I for one have no clue as its' not part of anything i have to do with in the company

The funny thing is that I'm Denmark during the beginning of June, near some place called Faxe, somewhere south of Køge (I think). Is it possible to change the delivery address then?

Yeah, I just got confirmation email, it says I should have the laptop on the 7th of June, I think. Once I get the laptop, if I have time, I could write a small summary of experience if no concrete reviews are available.

I can barely wait to get the laptop thought, I have a feeling that it will live up to my expectations

 

It should be possible to change your address. I take it you are in sweeden now. You will just need to mail your sales guys from the address on the website

Nice one, great minds think alike eh? Only reason I've opted for the lower hard drive is I recently bought a Seagate Momentous 7200.2 drive which I plan to install along with my own copy of Vista Ultimate, can't bloody wait...

 

Just a quick note here, I've had no order confirmation yet sine my order placment 21st May, I wondered if you have?, and if Zepto read this, just when would any order confirmation would come from the sales department ? My Ccard has been charged the full amount (like I mentioned earlier) and it's now the 3rd June.
