I would like to know if it is possible to have the LCD disabled (black) sort of like a function on other notebooks (usually Fn + Key)

I know the LCD goes back when I close the lid, but I'd like have this feature without closing the lid (so I don't crack the case)

    Any ideas?

I supose you DID read the manual , usually this sort of thing is in there even in old notebooks ( specially if you got video out port ) .

On my 3250 it is Fn + F5 and it DOES blank the screen without an external monitor attached. You have to tap F5 twice.

    Yup read the manual.

From my understanding this sort of thing is only availible when there is an external monitor attached to the port.

Fn+F4 doesn't disable anything when there is no monitor attached.

Oh nevermind. I think I'll just utilize the "Blank Screensaver".

It should have the same effect.

    Thanks~

Actually there is another way of turning off the lcd you could go to the power properties and set the LCD backlight to turn off 1 minute up to 5 hours.
