Got my Znote 6625WD today and I've been trying to get it to work for a half a day now :)
First off installed Vista Ultimate and encountered the same problem as "blackbird" http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=160496
But that will prolly be sorted later.
The bigger consern for me is not being able to install Ubuntu (7.04), when I boot from cd I get to the menu where I can either start to install or check the disc etc. but each option leads me to a black screen after few secs and the only option is to boot. I've been playing with BIOS options and installed the new one but nothing seems to help. So I'm open to ideas here. Please.

Only lead I have atm is from Ubuntu forums:

If this enables you to install Ubuntu, please tell me how the mouse cursor works on your machine."
...but I can't seem to find that sort of a menu from BIOS.

EDIT:Never got to try the alternate CD for Ubuntu, installed xp for now and it works as well as an xp can.
EDIT2: It was Windows Vista Ultimate 64 that didn't show the cd/dvd drive. And the newest BIOS from ftp.zepto.
EDIT3: Ok the missing DVD drive should now be fixable, just follow blackbirds posts. I have given up on ubuntu for now, maybe I'll try again in a year or so :)

Laellis, I tried booting off the ubuntu live cd, and it goes to the screen where you select Start or Install now. After pressing enter It says error and there is a command prompt which says something like jobs control is off or some**** like that.

Also how are your fans, loud??

Can hardly hear them :) No problems there.
But selecting that Start or Install now just gives a black screen, no blinking lights, no rolling cd, nothing.

Can I ask you what bios version you are running, it should say when you enter the bios and at the first screen scroll down
