Are the Sony Vaios sold by portable 1 made in Japan?

Would it be possible to config a Sony Vaio with the 1600x900 w/o the processor, mem, and HD upgrades?

    thanks up front.

There will be new Z sku's soon with more resolution options, but no vaio can be sold without a CPU and hd.

Hello IVAN, do you kuys offer junkware removal on the Vaio Z? If yes, do you remove the laptops from the box and then remove the junk then seal the box back up?

If I order from you and im from Canada, will the 1 year standard warrenty be still eligible in Canada even though Sony Canada wont support it?

Yes, we have enterprise images without any of the trials bloat and etc ever installed, takes 48hours to perform (shipping time to & fro).

There are Canadian Service Centers that do both Canadian & USA warranty repairs, such as MTC Canada's largest Sony service center.

    Hello Ivan,

    I have two questions:
-the Z540s on your site are configurable with 3-4 different capacity 7200 rpm drives whereas the rest are not and just have the 200gb one? Is this something only offered on the ones built in San Diego? Like you said that the 540s and 590s are built in Sony's San Diego factory.

-Also, once I configure lets say the Z530, then you guys send the "order" to Sony Japan to get them built? Just trying to understand the process involved. And what is the expected shipout time if I order one today, Aug 15 08?

I guess that made it three questions.. :)

    Thanks.

    hey Ivan,

I was wondering what are the specs for the 250 gig 7500 rpm HD option for the Vaio Z? (ie. is it a Western Digital Scorpio Black, SAMSUNG Spinpoint, cache, model #, etc.)

    thanks!

So Canadians will not be provided 'Onsite' service even if we are to purchase 'Vaio Onsite' warranties from P1?

All the VAIO Zs are DDR3. Other Sony's including the FW use DDR2.

No change to the Z series in their Fall release. Sony hasn't released details for their winter models yet. They are offering great deals on bundeled accessories right now though - free docking stations, etc... Eg: Purchase any VAIO Professional Z Series notebook between 10/1/2008 and 12/31/2008* and you are eligible to receive your choice of either a Productivity or Mobility accessory bundle via Sony mail-in rebate at no additional cost. Bundles are valued at up to $369.97! https://www.rebate-zone.com/default.asp?PN=SY00122k7
