Is it possible to get a surround output from hel80?
The headphone output is no good, or is it?

I've only used earphones, but it is supposed to give you surround sound.

I believe some Compal owners here can attest to that.

Toonamy, please use the "Edit button" rather than making a long string of posts. It's easier to read that way. Thanks.

You push the button on the right side, and it will pop out. Then you push it in to eject the placeholder.

    Okay, that's noted

Are we talking about the same thing, if you look at the picture i linked to, it seems you are reffering to the nr 6 and nr 7, im talking about te tv-tuner slot, nr 1.
Or maybe i just cant find it or my notebook has a flaud or something.

I'm sorry, I missed the "nr1", and thought by "tc-card" you meant "PC card".

paladin44 posted how to remove the cover, but I can't seem to find the post. I would suggest you give your reseller a call and they can walk you through it. If I remember correctly, it is a very simple operation.

Did you configure your notebook with the optional TV-tuner? The cover should already be removed if it was installed.

Jepp, i configured mmy with tv-tuner and 2 GB ram.
I only received 1 GB ram so i wouldnt be to suprised if the tvtuner wasnt there.
But i think it is, because the product sheet with the computer stated it had only 1 GB ram and the optional tv-tuner installed.

Sorry for the typo by the way, im still getting just to notebook keybords.

Back to the original question, surround, anyone?

Yes, the HEL80 does support surround sound through its S/PDIF port.

To get at your TV Tuner ports you remove the keyhole shaped plastic cover on the rear of the left hand side of your laptop.

The headphone jack is the S/PDIF port.

To remove the TV Tuner cover simply slip your fingernail or a small screwdriver under the edge of it and gently lift.
