This is what I'm talking about.

Don't know what causes it, but the laptop won't charge until I unplug the power cable and plug it back in, 180w brick and the latest bios / ec / power fix for the 8750h + 1060 15' model.

Apparently there is something wrong with the daugtherboard that works together with the actual mainboard. All components will be replaced.

Strange, it doesn't take that long to diagnose a laptop. For how long are you currently waiting?

Talking about bad luck. I have a few friends with the exact model and those laptops do not exhibit strange temperature spikes like mine. Out of cheer curiosity, where did you order yours?

How am I supposed to know what PSU my laptop is supposed to have? Laptop is in signature. Is there a way to find out?

Also, the laptop should NOT just *shut off* completely, it should just throttle back if it can't supply enough power. My machine came with a 180w brick, and I know for a fact that the laptop doesn't draw 180w with just an 8750h and a 1060. There's no way.

I had a problem where it would cut off completely while on battery power randomly. It turned out I had used someone else throttlestop settings and it was causing the laptop to pull more power than the battery could supply. I went back to the post #2627 settings and it has been working fine ever since.

    Hi,
You might want to try swapping the port that the SSD is plugged into, I had the same problem using the wrong port on the motherboard.

Question: I applied this power adapter fix
"OEMsev : "A tool to flash your system when changing adapter and other components."
Found on this forum by @steberg LINK TO FILE(for GK5CN5Z and GK5CN6Z"

And immediately my boot times increased from like 20 secs to more than a 60.
It doesn't make sense why, any ideas?

    Overpowered 15+.

For an OP 15 I would think if you have a 180W brick you are fine. I should note, that my laptop (OP 17+) worked ok doing normal stuff. It was just when I went to play a game (even a simple game like CS:GO) that it would try to draw more power to the GPU and would shut down / immediately power off. It did not throttle back like it was supposed to.

anyone here can help me with updating my overpowred 17+ bios? currently im at bios 1.04
i tried going to overpowered support page and downloading the bios from there, inside of it i found those files https://i.imgur.com/vhDWt3N.png
i tried following what OWNorDisown did in his video at 6:50 ( ), but when i do that the window gives me a warning about rom layout being changed https://imgur.com/dVswHrH

i've never updated a bios before, so i don't know if that's normal or not, can anyone help with this?

    Hey guys,
when i purchased my OP-LP 15+ (GK5CN6Z) the battery upgrade always seemed tempting but i never had the money to do it. Now that i have the money i cant find the battery anymore (part number: GK5CN-00-13-4S1P-0). Any1, by any chance, has any idea where to still get one? Someone who wants to sell his maybe?
    Thank you & good day.

    Hey Guys,

Trying to optimize TS settings and needed to confirm if im understanding how things work. Using the general settings found in here that ive tried experimenting off of.

First off, cant seem to get passed 3893mhz except for spikes-- does that still count as "3.9mhz"?

When running a CB15 test all cores fluctuate between 3888-3893mhz pl 68-70w the entire test, scores from 1220-1293. Then when doing TS bench on 1024m it will fluctuate between 3880-3893mhz and pl 68-72w until around 70% completion when it drops to 3380-3410mhz pl 50-55.

That would be unstable correct? If so, I would want to lower values till it holds firm?

No, that's the turbo boost running out essentially. Those are on a timer, usually about 56 seconds as default, and after that they drop power draw to 55w as you saw. So no, it's not unstable.

My laptop doesnt seem to work with my Nvidia card but instead wiht my INTEL integrated card.
I have already changed settings in nvidia program to set it to NVIDIA card in globa settings, but still games are laggy.
As u can see it obviously didnt test my NVIDIA card but instead the integrated card which is way worse:

Ever tried DOOM or FarCry 5? If so, what are your tempratures in those games. Mine reach 90c after a while and I applied a modest amount of liquid metal on my CPU and GPU. :p

Check the task manager when your game is running. Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open it

GPU 0 means integrated graphics (Intel GPU). GPU 1 mean dedicated graphics (NVidia GPU).

Thanks for sharing this info here as well.

Have you (or anyone else with the unlocked BIOS) tried tweaking the RAM to run it at 3000? Does the unlocked BIOS have full access to memory clock ratios, timings, voltage and XMP?

    Hey Guys,

Hoping for a little bit of help. I have the Medion X6807 which I believe to be a gk5cn6z (shop link: https://www.box.co.uk/30026173-Medion-Erazer-X6807_2644700.html)

    It's an i5 8300H 1060 variant.

I am trying to find a suitable battery for the laptop hoping to upgrade to a 4-cell 62wh version.

However on inspection, the current battery is rated to 11.4v - where all others seem to be 15.2v?

    Any ideas?

The 4 cell 62WHr version is a 15.2v battery while the normal 3 cell version is a 11.4v. It's meant to be like this.

Well thats how it is. The bigger battery has more voltage and it'll still work fine with the laptop.
